The goose eats in principle different grass types, seeds, leaves and roots, but they don`t avoid either worms or other insects. Comparing with the duck, where there is an evident sexual dimorphism, the cock-bird can be distinguished from the female by size, the female is smaller. The geese are monogamous birds as the swans and the male birds help the female birds to make the nest. The goose is a slightly bigger animal than the duck, it is 63 – 73 cm long, the wing-span reaches up to 1,5 metres. The legs and the beak are pale pink. Males and females resemble in colour, but in dimensions the females are a bit smaller.
